SunShares II:  Three Reasons to Go Solar at Home

The 2013 SF SunShares program was a hit, resulting in almost half a megawatt of new residential solar installed throughout the Bay Area.  Due to its success, and recent interest from employees who missed last years program, we’re please to announce SF SunShares II.  SF SunShares II is a residential group solar discount program offered by the City of San Francisco, the Business Council on Climate Change, and the non-profit Vote Solar. The City and local employers like Genentech, Salesforce, UCSF and United Airlines are participating in this program to help their employees / retirees pool their buying power to secure significant discounts that make installing solar more affordable than ever.

UCSF is encouraging all eligible employees, retirees, alumni, family, and friends to take advantage of this program. Just tell them you are affiliated with UCSF to get your discount.

Here are three reasons to go solar at home:

Reason #1:  Save 15% + Earn a Federal Tax Credit + Get a $500 rebate

SunRun is offering participants a no cost / obligation site evaluation and program pricing starting at $3.50/watt (a 15% discount off the average cost in the Bay Area).  SunRun will also provide each homeowner who signs a contract with a $500 program rebate. And, if you refer a UCSF retiree or alumni, family member, friend or neighbor and they go solar, you’ll each receive an additional $500 referral incentive.  Partnered with the Federal tax credit (30% of the cost of a system, set to expire in early 2016), now is the time to explore if solar is right for your home.

Reason #2:  Entire Nine-County Region Qualifies

Don’t let the name SF SunShares fool you.  Given the distribution of employees across the Bay Area, the program is not limited to employees who live in San Francisco.  It covers the nine Bay Area counties.

Reason #3:  SunRun Makes it Easy

SunRun is headquartered in SF, is a GoSolar SF certified installer, and employs 500 residents throughout the Bay Area. With great pricing, experience and capacity, SunRun will make the process of going solar fun and easy.  Go HERE to get started and to schedule a free solar proposal.  The program is available through the end of November, 2014 so please register to receive your no cost / obligation proposal.
